Mae Margaret Whitman (born June 9, 1988) is an American actress and singer. After making her film debut in When a Man Loves a Woman (1994), she had other supporting roles in films such as One Fine Day (1996), as the President's daughter in Independence Day (1996), and in Hope Floats (1998). Whitman ventured into television with her notable roles as Ann Veal on the Fox sitcom Arrested Development (2004–2006) and as Amber Holt on the NBC drama Parenthood (2010–2015). She also had supporting roles in the films Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012). Whitman made her film leading role debut in The Duff (2015).

Whitman has also voiced Katara in the animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender, Little Suzy in Johnny Bravo, Rose/Huntsgirl in American Dragon: Jake Long, April O'Neil in the 2012 generation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tinker Bell in the Tinker Bell movies, and Yuffie Kisaragi in the video game Kingdom Hearts.

Whitman was born on June 9, 1988 in Los Angeles, California, the only child of Pat Musick, a voice artist, and Jeffrey Whitman, a personal manager and set construction co-ordinator. Her parents divorced when she was three years old. She attended Ribet Academy, but later transferred to Whitefish Bay High School, where she graduated from. Whitman is of English and German ancestry.
