List of Mexican states by Human Development Index

The following table presents a listing of Mexico's 31 federal states (and its Federal District, officially not a state), ranked in order of their Human Development Index, as reported by the United Nations in 2015 with data from 2008-2015.

None of the States (nor the Federal District) has a low level of human development. Only Oaxaca, Guerrero and Chiapas, located south in the country, are in the medium level if the HDI. Puebla, Veracruz and Michoacán jumped from this level to high development states in 2010.

Between the states, Querétaro and Campeche have climbed more positions (4 and 3) jumping from 11 to 7 and 18 to 15 places respectively. In the other hand, Chihuahua, Sinaloa and Nayarit are the ones who have lost more places: 4, 4 and 3 falling from 15 to 19, 7 to 11 and 17 to 20 correspondingly.
