Levanzo (Sicilian: Lèvanzu) is the smallest of the three main Aegadian Islands in the Mediterranean Sea west of Sicily, Italy. It forms a part of the municipality (comune) of Favignana in the Province of Trapani.

Levanzo has an area of 5.82 square kilometres (2.25 sq mi). The highest point is Pizzo Monaco with a height of 278 metres (912 feet). The island has about 450 inhabitants, who are concentrated around a tiny port, that gives little shelter from storms.

The ancient name of the island was "Phorbantia" which is a sort of plants growing there.

Levanzo is famous for the "Grotta del Genovese" with Neolithic cave paintings and Palaeolithic graffitoes.

Furthermore, in the water of Cala Minnola, on the eastern side of the island of Levanzo, there is one of the most important sicilian underwater archaeological site in which a Roman cargo ship, loaded with wine amphoras, lies at 27 meters of depth.

Capo Grosso Lighthouse (Italian: Faro di Capo Grosso) is an active lighthouse on the Levanzo Island placed at the extremity of Capo Grosso, the northernmost point of the Island.

The lighthouse was built in 1858 in concrete and has a cylindrical shape with balcony and lantern atop a 1-storey keeper’s house. The tower is 12 metres (39 ft) high and the lantern is positioned at an height of 68 metres (223 ft) above sea level. The light is fully automated and operated by Marina Militare identified by the Country code number 3120.3 E.F. The lighthouse has a solar power unit and emits an alternating three white flashes in a fifteen seconds period visible up to 11 nautical miles (20 km; 13 mi).
