John Burke Krasinski (/krəˈzɪnski/; born October 20, 1979) is an American actor and filmmaker. He is best known for his role as Jim Halpert on NBC's The Office. His film credits include Away We Go (2009), Leatherheads (2008), License to Wed (2007), Big Miracle (2012), Something Borrowed (2011), It's Complicated (2009), Promised Land (2012), Aloha (2014), and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016).
Krasinski was born at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, the son of Mary Clare (née Doyle), a nurse, and Ronald Krasinski, an internist. His father is Polish-American and his mother is Irish-American. He and his two older brothers, Kevin and Paul, were raised Roman Catholic.
