Jacob William Hoggard (born July 9, 1984) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. He finished in third place on the second season of Canadian Idol, in 2004. He is the lead singer of the rock band Hedley.

Hoggard was born in Surrey, British Columbia, and raised in Abbotsford and Surrey. He learned to play piano at the age of four from his aunt, and taught himself guitar at the age of 12. He was educated in Surrey, British Columbia at Senator Reid Elementary School and Mennonite Educational Institute, Yale Secondary School in Abbotsford and at L A Matheson Secondary School. He formed the band Hedley with four friends; the name was inspired by a small mining town in Canada which the group had learned was available for sale in its entirety. The original band bet Jacob Hoggard $150 that he wouldn't make it into the top three for Canadian Idol. Hoggard proved them wrong making it to the top three before being eliminated from the competition. Jacob married his highschool sweetheart in 2005, which ended in divorce in 2009.

When he returned after Canadian Idol, he and his former band mates decided to go their separate ways. A re-formed Hedley, with Hoggard as the only remaining original member on vocals, Dave Rosin on guitar, Tommy Macdonald on bass, and Chris Crippin on Drums, then released their self-titled debut album Hedley on September 26, 2005; their second album, Famous Last Words, was released on October 30, 2007. Their third album, The Show Must Go, was released November 17, 2009. Their fourth album, Storms, was released November 8, 2011. Hoggard was also featured as one of the Young Artists for Haiti, one of many Canadian artists who sang on the charity single "Wavin' Flag". He was featured from 1:34 to 1:36; their fifth album, "Wild Life", was released November 11, 2013. Jacob Hoggard was the host to the 2015 Juno Awards. Hedley put out their sixth album Hello on November 6, 2015, which includes hits like Lose Control, Hello, and Lost in Translation.
