Essential Foods manufactures and supplies dog and cat food across Europe. Its products are prepared in the United Kingdom, and ninety-five percent of the pet food ingredients are products of rural England, Wales, and Scotland. Red fallow deer, trout, and Gressingham Duck—heritage products of the United Kingdom—are among the ingredients. Essential Foods also contain vegetables, berries, linseed, fruit, and herbs. The company offers nine different types of food, none of which include grains. Pet food that contains a high proportion of meant, fruit, and vegetables and low carbohydrate content is widely believed to be better for pet health.
